Devdas is the story of a love beyond all else...even life. The saga of a man called Devdas who loved, loved and just loved... After his wealthy family prohibits him from marrying the woman he is in love with, Devdas Mukherjee's life spirals further and further out of control as he takes up alcohol and a life of vice to numb the pain..
A scene from this play is to be held live infront of our class, which includes props, costumes, etc.. So what's the catch? I intend to shoot this a well. And I plan to shoot more than a scene ofcourse. This can be a great exposure for those aspiring artists out there. And I bet this take is a good addition for your reel as well. Some rehearsal sessions will be held at Columbia college hollywood. Your timing needs can be met a well.
Meals will be provided.
Devdas: Late 20's or early 30's, preferably Indian, but Middle Eastern ethnicity acceptable if able to pull an Indian outlook. Simple yet, modern and educated. Authoritative and stubborn, yet playful and a passionate lover. He portrays himself as a mature adult in front of his family; but he simply melts into his true self when he is infront of his love
(Paro).He can pour out his heart infront of her, be it anger, frustration, love or sorrow. Although not married, he takes her as his wife, his lover, his friend, his right. . . his life!
Paro: Early 20's, preferably Indian, but Middle Eastern ethnicity acceptable if able to pull an Indian outlook. She is beautiful, pure and serene. Although a little Naïve,but is also an intellectual. Unlike other woman in those period (1900s), she is not completely submissive with the norms. She is a very loving, gentle and mature woman. Indeed she is married to another man, she is not afraid to take risks and reach out to her lover, when he is in her need.
